North Yorkshire, Courtyard Garden

A Mediterranean inspired dry garden set within a small North Yorkshire courtyard.  A real sun trap, creating a sheltered location. though with some very poor soil. ​What better place to create a Yorkshire dry garden. Scent is a key element here, with the soft fragrance of lavender and thyme drifting on the air. A mix of evergreen plants give low level structure, whilst keeping the courtyard accessible. A central Olive tree and italinate inspired Yew columns complete this courtyard built for warm summer evenings by candlelight.​
