Shopping Centre , South Yorkshire
A little greenery goes a long way when you're out shopping. Whether it's flowers or foliage, adding nature to an urban setting can completely lift the atmosphere.
For this project, we were invited to create a fresh planting design for a shopping centre in South Yorkshire.
Inspired by the contrast between city life and the natural world, we used our naturalistic design approach to shape the planting throughout this space. With a variety of planters to fill, we worked with the microclimates created by shaded and sunny areas, selecting planting schemes tailored to each location.

Previously, the space lacked colour and year-round interest. Even in the bleakest months, a hint of scent or a single bloom can lift a visitor’s spirits, so we introduced species that offer seasonal highlights from the New Year right through to the next Christmas rush. A blend of grasses, compact shrubs, and perennials—each well suited to container growing—creates a resilient, evolving display that will continue to mature over time.
